Portal is a steel-framed sculpture comprised of discarded ropes obtained from a third generation local log salvor. The artist removed log dogs from multi-coloured pick-up lines and then spliced a selection of these short 3-ply nylon and polysteel ropes together over two base layers obtained from one large continuous piece of tow-line.
